Integrating Montessori will not tolerate any kind of discrimination that creates a hostile and unpleasant environment for our team members or community members.
Any member or team member who harass their another member will go through our disciplinary process and we may reprimand, suspend or terminate their membership depending on the severity of their offense.
We recognize that sometimes discrimination is unintentional, as we all have unconscious biases that could be difficult to identify and overcome. In case we conclude that a member unconsciously discriminates, we will support them through anti-racist and anti-bias training and counseling and implement processes that mitigate biases as we indicate in the next section. But, if this person shows unwillingness to change their behavior, we may suspend or terminate their membership.
We will not be lenient in cases of assault, sexual harassment or violence, whether physical or psychological. We will terminate team members and members who behave like this immediately.
If you are the victim of discriminatory behavior (or if you suspect that others are being discriminated against,) please talk to Britt Hawthorne or Andy Lulka as soon as possible. The Integrating Montessori team is responsible for hearing your claim, investigating the issue and determining the reconciliation.
Consequences and reconciliation for discriminatory behavior depends on the severity of the offense. For example, inadvertently offending someone might warrant a conversation. Conversely, willfully dehumanizing a group of people will result in termination.
